Bisate Lodge is set within a natural amphitheatre formed by an eroded volcanic cone on the edge of Volcanoes National Park. Surrounded by reforested land, the lodge overlooks a dramatic landscape of forest and volcanoes, with sweeping views toward Bisoke, Karisimbi, and Mikeno.
The design is distinctive, with spherical thatched villas inspired by traditional Rwandan architecture, combining local craftsmanship with high-end finishes. The lodge is intentionally small and private, with each villa positioned to maximise views and seclusion.
A key part of the experience is its strong conservation focus, with an active reforestation programme that guests can engage with during their stay. The overall atmosphere is quiet, design-led, and deeply connected to the surrounding environment.
